Where we started

Expertly Crafted String Instruments for Professional Musicians and Students Alike.

Founded in 2009 by bassist Charles Winters, our shop specializes in the sale, restoration, instruction, and rental of upright basses, cellos, violas, and violins. We serve a diverse clientele, from renowned orchestral musicians to local students at public and private schools. Our commitment to personalized care and attention ensures a great experience for professionals, students, and amateurs alike. Whether you're looking to purchase an instrument, have one restored, or learn to play, we take pride in supporting musicians at all levels.

We educate musicians of all skill levels in the South Florida community and beyond, while also providing them with the supplies and services they need to keep their instruments in top condition.

What we offer

Miami String offers a comprehensive suite of luthier services, as well as an extensive inventory of antique and contemporary musical instruments available for purchase or rental. Additionally, Miami String keeps a full stock of stringed instruments, including bass, cello, viola, and violin, along with a wide selection of general music accessories. Additionally, Miami String carries specialty products from many of its industry partners.
