We’re Your Preferred String Shop in South Florida
In December, we hired Dale Cockrum, as our full-time Master Luthier. If you’ve spent any time in the South Florida area, you may recognize him as the Luthier at Duffy’s Rare Violin Shop. He worked there for nearly 40 years. Although, we’re all sad to see Duffy’s shutter its doors after being a pillar in the orchestral community, we know that every end leads to new opportunities and beginnings.
Who We Are
Miami String opened its doors in 2009 as a mobile, on-demand showroom serving clients all throughout South Florida. We began by providing a service that no one else offered: private in-home showrooms complete with lessons, repairs, and accessories delivered direct to our clients’ doors. Since 2014, we’ve officially opened our own independent showroom and shop with the exclusivity of a ‘by appointment only’ status. You can now book a same-day appointment online.
Two Luthiers and a Full-Service Shop + Showroom
It’s a new day at Miami String. Dale and Charley are two luthiers now partnering to meet all of your orchestral needs! We are well-known already for being a double bass and cello specialized shop, but now with the help of Dale, we also specialize in violin and viola too!
As you may already know, we are incredibly selective about the kind of inventory we carry in our shop and showroom. We really look into all of our partners’ products, materials, and manufacturing standards before making any new decisions for selling. It’s important that our string instruments are top-quality for our rentals and sales.
